National Night Out returns to Gig Harbor
Community members are invited to come together Aug. 4 at the Gig Harbor Civic Center, 3510 Grandview Street, joining thousands of communities gathering nationwide for National Night Out. This fun, free, community-wide event from 5 to 9 p.m. will include free food, live music, a root beer garden and many other fun activities for the whole family.
The featured musical guest is Steve Stefanowicz with the band Too Many Cooks. In addition, Stephanie Anne Johnson, from the hit show “The Voice,” will make a special appearance.
National Night Out is a community-wide block party designed to heighten crime prevention awareness and an enjoyable means to promote neighborhood spirit, build police-community partnerships and send a message to potential criminals letting them know residents will not tolerate crime in the community.
Several law enforcement and rescue agencies including Gig Harbor Police, Pierce County Sheriff, Washington State Patrol, Gig Harbor Fire and Medic 1 and South Sound 911. The U.S. Military and U.S. Customs and Border Protection will also participate. The event will also feature free wellness screenings, a classic car display and games and activities for children.
