Drivers west of the Narrows: Expect road closures all weekend for waterfront festival
If you plan to participate in any Maritime Festival activities this weekend, consider your parking options.
City officials advised residents and commuters who expect to pass through Gig Harbor this weekend to plan for road closures during the festival, parade and fun run.
The city’s social media post said closures from 5 a.m. Saturday, June 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 4 will include:
Harborview Drive: Rosedale Street to 3026 Harborview Dr.
Pioneer Way: Tarabochia Street to Harborview Drive
The post said closures for the parade and fun run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 3 will include:
- North Harborview Drive: Peacock Hill to Harborview Drive
- North Harborview Drive: Harborview Drive to Burnham Drive
- Harborview Drive: Burnham Drive to Soundview Drive
- Soundview Drive: Harborview Drive to Judson Street
- Judson Street: Soundview Drive to Pioneer Way
Parking
Drivers can park at the Kimball Park and Ride, then catch a bus ride via Pierce Transit Route 100 to downtown Gig Harbor.
Fare is $2 for adults and free for anyone under 18.

St. Nicholas Catholic Church at 3510 Rosedale St. and Gig Harbor United Methodist Church at 7400 Pioneer Way both offer paid parking.
Correction: An initial version of this story misstated the public transit service available during the festival. Drivers can park at the Kimball Park and Ride, then catch a bus ride via Pierce Transit Route 100 to downtown Gig Harbor. Pierce Transit Trolley service starts in July.
