Scenic Pierce County trail closed to bikers, pedestrians for nine days of utility pole work

As we enjoy the last warm days of summer, walkers and bikers in the Gig Harbor area may need to use an alternate route.

The Cushman Trail will be closed weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through Sept. 15.

Tacoma Public Utilities crews will be working to “replace four transmission poles along the trail,” according to an announcement by the city of Gig Harbor.

The trail will be open at the end of each day for pedestrians to use, the notice said.
