Hit-and-run driver struck 15-year-old skateboarder in Gig Harbor, according to police

Gig Harbor police are looking for information about a hit-and-run driver who injured a 15-year-old boy Friday morning.

The boy was riding his skateboard to Gig Harbor High School about 7 a.m. when a black Mercedes SUV hit him near Hunt Street and Skansie Avenue, the police department posted on social media.

“He was outside the fog line and not in the lane of travel,” the post said. “... This may have been an intentional act.”

The Mercedes didn’t stop, according to police.

“The student suffered a concussion and some rash injuries.,” the post said. “There were no witnesses. GHPD is canvassing the area to search for residential security video.”
