Initial post:
A 68-year-old Gig Harbor man who suffers from dementia has been missing for more than 24 hours, and police are seeking the public’s help to find him.
Kenneth McIntosh, 68, was reported missing Sunday morning. He was last seen around 9:45 a.m. on Jan. 19 near the 3700 block of Hunt Street in Gig Harbor, in the residential neighborhood just east of Hunt Street and 38th Avenue Northwest.
The area is also home to Harborland Mobile Home Park, an auto shop called Parkers Detailing and a Security Storage facility.
McIntosh, who has a prosthetic left leg, suffers from dementia and diabetes, according to a release from the Gig Harbor Police Department, which first issued the alert around 9:30 p.m. Sunday. He does not have required medications and “may be unable to return without assistance.”
He is approximately 150 pounds and 5-foot-10 with gray hair and blue eyes. He is likely to be driving his 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche with Washington state plates, C53645R.
The police image shows McIntosh with a gray beard, but friends in the comments shared a “current picture” of him with a more recent shave and a baseball cap. He was last seen wearing sweatpants and a red-and-black flannel shirt.
In a Facebook post Sunday night, Gig Harbor police confirmed that Jan. 19 is the man’s birthday.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Gig Harbor Police Department at 253-841-2236.
