A new Port Orchard steakhouse opened its doors this month, bringing bison burgers, country breakfasts and an all-you-can-eat salad bar to diners near the waterfront.
Owner Katie Hudkins told The News Tribune in January that she had envisioned Rustica Grille as a “family-friendly, high-quality food option here in Port Orchard.” The restaurant welcomed customers for the first time March 11 to its location at 715 Bay St., in the Port Orchard Public Market.
The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and will be family-friendly. “It’s something for everybody,” she said.
Rustica Grille replaces The Dock Bar & Eatery, which opened for the last time Aug. 31, 2024 after about nine years of business in the Public Market. The owners posted on Facebook prior to the closing that the economy was squeezing their small business and that they could no longer afford to continue.
Rustica posted slightly different hours for opening week, but starting March 14 will be open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to Hudkins.
Customers can also order ahead of time using a QR code posted at the marina or airport owned by the Port of Bremerton. Visitors can order to-go or eat in the restaurant, she wrote in an email.
