Community forum to feature candidates for Peninsula School District Board of Directors

The Peninsula Education Association will host a community forum from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 15) featuring the candidates running for the Peninsula School District’s Board of Directors.

The purpose of the forum is to give parents, community members and teachers a chance to meet, talk and ask the candidates questions, said Carol Rivera, president of the Peninsula Education Association.

All seven candidates were invited and have confirmed that they will be attending, Rivera said.

“We are looking to allow members, the community and parents to listen to the candidates and make an informed decision in November,” Rivera said. “We wanted to give the public a chance to ask questions and hear what the candidates have to say.”

The schedule for the forum will begin with a two-minute introduction for each candidate, followed by questions from the audience and one-minute candidate responses.

The seven candidates running for Peninsula School District Board of Directors are:

District 1:

District 2:

▪ Deborah Krishnadasan

District 3:

▪ Rand Wilhelmsen

▪ Geralyn (Lyn) McClendon

District 4:

▪ Leslie Harbaugh

▪ Garth Jackson

The event is open to the public and will be held at the Peninsula High School Auditorium, 14105 Purdy Drive NW, Gig Harbor.
