Cheers and Jeers, Sept. 22
Cheers to the students of the Peninsula High School leadership class for organizing and executing a successful transition to high school program for entering freshmen. You all have made the beginning of a new adventure fun, entertaining and informative.
Cheers to Frank Grubaugh of the Key Peninsula Toastmasters. He won the District 32 Division B Tall Tales Contest! Next stop: Fall Conference in Anchorage, Alaska. Good luck, Mister G.
Jeers to those who abandon their pets out of “convenience” due to their circumstance. These are family members who depend on you to take care of them. If you can’t do that anymore, find someone who can take care of them, take them to the Humane Society, ask your vet for assistance; don’t just dump them like trash. This happens way too often and is totally irresponsible. Those that do that have zero conscience.
Cheers to the citizens who have joined our community over the years and find it a positive and beautiful place to live and call their new home. Our community should be shared not held hostage. Let’s reach out and embrace our neighbors whether they are living in new neighborhoods on the hill or older homes downtown.
Jeers to the late night thieves and trash dumpers who visit our thrift store on Kimball Drive. Because of your actions, you have deemed it necessary for us to install surveillance around our building. All you are doing is taking away from our yearly donation we give to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
