Cheers and Jeers, Oct. 6

Jeers to the crew repairing the entrances to the Purdy Spit Bridge. It is worse than before the repair. I would not think it would be difficult to make it a smooth transition with the asphalt or to clean the area of loose asphalt when you finish. Maybe they should get some instructions from the crew that repaired the Narrows bridges. They are done extremely well.

Jeers to Harbor WildWatch for choosing to teach children respect and appreciation for sea life by having them dissect a squid. Isn’t that a contradiction? It would be far more fun, exciting and educational for your students to experience the beauty of undersea creatures when they are alive and swimming!

Cheers to organizations like The Cheney Foundation that support work to make Gig Harbor a better place to live. And cheers to our community nonprofits and volunteers who carry out that work every day. Thank you!

Cheers to the nice couple in the red car who stopped on Sehmel Drive to tell me where my missing keys were. If they hadn't taken the time, those keys might have been lost forever.
