Letters to the Editor, Dec. 1
Visitors are not required to examine every feature
The new exhibit at the Harbor History Museum, “Arts and Artifacts: An Excellent Little Bay,” is absolutely first-rate. Based on the book, “An Excellent Little Bay”, which chronicles the history of Gig Harbor, the exhibit does a wonderful job of bringing to life the compelling history of our community. It’s unfortunate that The News Tribune article by Rosemary Ponnekanti, reprinted in the Nov. 24 Gateway, found the exhibit difficult to absorb due to “information overload.” In my view, the artifacts and supporting documentation are critical to understanding and appreciating Gig Harbor’s fascinating roots. And, as with any exhibit, the visitor is not required to examine every feature in depth but rather spend their time on areas of particular interest.
Dennis Hardman, Gig Harbor
