Cushman Trail is littered with trash, doggy doo
To the editor:
I bike ride 5-6 days a week using Cushman Trail—from the Hollycroft entrance to Reid Road section and beyond.I am continually appalled at the unsightly condition along the trail—thousands of pieces of trash along with numerous plastic bags of dog poop strewn along the pathway—shame on you dog owners!
I have been writing our mayor starting in July 2018 about this ongoing situation but to this date there has been zero action!
On today’s ride, I did encounter a couple who are walkers, who also expressed how appalled they are at the horrible trashy condition of Cushman Trail, but they were in the process of picking up trash and poop bags in one section of the trail.
I give them huge kudos and thanks for the clean up work they did. A wonderful couple to take on this responsibility and demonstrate much needed pride in our community.
Now for dog owners to show responsibility to properly dispose of their dog’s waste. And for some positive action from mayor’s office.
