Cheers and Jeers, July 29

Cheers to Brian at Meineke Care Care Center in Gig Harbor. It was a pleasure doing business with you. Thank you for calling me every step of the way with my dad’s car while working on it. You are honest, friendly, fair and I will be recommending you to all my friends and family.

Jeers to the horrific traffic situation on July 21, all because of the event at Skansie Park for a few people to listen to a musical group. All roads were blocked and many of these people were trying to get home from work. Why do these activities have to be on weeknights? There is an imbalance of common sense (not so common) and wisdom with the city “planners” that allow these things to happen. Money, perhaps?

Cheers to the numerous people who provided help for me with my disabled car in several ways at Pt. Fosdick Mall on July 21, including Dave from MultiCare. Kindness is definitely a priceless virtue. I will not forget that day.

Cheers to all of the downtown businesses that have been sprucing up with a new coat of paint. You all look fabulous. It makes a difference.

Jeers to the couple at the Arts Festival with two beautiful black and white dogs whose paws were so hot on the pavement they kept lifting them up every time they sat down. Remember that when it is very hot, the pavement can get unbearable to walk on for them.

Cheers to my neighbor on 80th avenue NW for putting up a sign for “Slow down: people walking dogs.”
