Cheers and Jeers, Dec. 2

Cheers and a big thank you to Peninsula Light Co. They did a fabulous job of pruning trees in preparation for the big wind events we get anymore. Also, they do a wonderful job of getting power restored in our area, as needed. We’re very lucky to have all of them in our community!

Jeers to the man in the Fred Meyer parking lot that saw my son back into a car. As a new driver, he was upset and shocked that he backed into a car. It didn’t help that you yelled “You drive a sports car, I would beat you if you hit my car.” It would have been nice if you would of said nothing instead of adding to a stressful situation on the day before Thanksgiving. People are so much more important than cars, so please think next time before you blurt out something so insensitive.

Cheers to the following Gig Harbor businesses for their generous contributions to the Gig Harbor High School Speech & Debate Invitational, in which approximately 400 students and 120 judges participated: Costco, Fred Meyer, Fondi, Galaxy Theatres, Home Depot, Qdoba, Starbucks on Borgen Blvd, Starbucks on Olympic Dr, Subway on Point Fosdick, and Target. Their support of this annual tournament is much appreciated by the students, coaches, judges and boosters.

To submit a Cheer or Jeer, email cheersandjeers@gateline.com. Jeers directed toward individuals or businesses will not be accepted.
