Olson-Urbon has monster day as Tides streamroll Stadium
Gig Harbor High School senior wideout Kyle Olson-Urbon transferred from Peninsula and was expected to be a big part of the Gig Harbor offense. While he was solid in the first few games of the season, he hadn’t yet had a big game.
That changed against Stadium on Friday night at Stadium Bowl.
Olson-Urbon went berserk, tallying 143 yards and four touchdowns on five catches. The Tides knocked off Stadium easily, 48-7.
Gig Harbor led Stadium (1-3, 0-2 Narrows 4A) at the half, 48-0.
“Proud of our execution tonight in first league game,” Gig Harbor coach Aaron Chantler tweeted after the game. “Always things to work on, but we improved tonight. Back to work in the AM. Never content.”
Olson-Urbon also took to Twitter after the game, writing, “It’s a great day to be a Tide. Thank you to the awesome fans for coming out. #muchlove.”
Olson-Urbon’s four touchdown catches went for 21, 53, 44 and 11 yards. Quarterback Davis Alexander added a touchdown on a 22-yard run, Kale Wong scored on a 3-yard run and sophomore Johnny Majmudar added a 1-yard touchdown.
With the win, the Tides improved to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the Narrows 4A. Gig Harbor has outscored its opponents 183-27 so far this season.
Gig Harbor returns home to face South Kitsap this Friday night at 7 p.m. It’s Gig Harbor’s homecoming game, and the Tides are heavy favorites.

Outlook: The Tides should have no problem against the Wolves, who are 0-2 in the Class 4A Narrows to this point. Gig Harbor beat Peninsula in the Fish Bowl, 40-14. Peninsula went on to beat South Kitsap the following week, 45-3. Barring a miracle or some kind of divine intervention, this game should be over by halftime.
