Gold Star widow to discuss book she wrote about the death of her Green Beret husband
The wife of a Puyallup native killed in an ambush in the African nation of Niger while on a mission as a Green Beret will talk about her book examining the details of her husband’s death Tuesday.
Michelle Black also will sign copies of the book, “Sacrifice: A Gold Star Widow’s Fight For The Truth,” which was published earlier this year.
The event, sponsored by the Puyallup Public Library, will run 7-9 p.m. at the Pioneer Park Pavilion, 330 S. Meridian in Puyallup.
In October 2017, Staff Sgt. Bryan Black was one of four U.S. soldiers killed when their special forces team was ambushed by militants aligned with the Islamic State.
Unsatisfied with the U.S. military’s explanation of the incident, Michelle Black conducted her own research, which resulted in her book.
