MultiCare has consolidated many of its pediatric services for East Pierce County residents at a new medical pavilion in Puyallup, according to a recent announcement from the Tacoma-based health system.

The new 40,000-square-foot medical pavilion, 1700 Fifth St. SE, is home to four pediatric clinics:

Mary Bridge Children’s Pediatrics – Evergreen offers primary care for children up to 18 years old, with 15 exam rooms and providers/staff fluent in Spanish.

Woodcreek Pediatrics – Puyallup is a Mary Bridge affiliate primary care clinic for children up to 18 years old, with 18 exam rooms and offering pediatric sports medicine.

Mary Bridge Children’s urgent care is for patients up to age 20, with nine exam rooms and offering online scheduling and virtual appointments.

Mary Bridge Children’s outpatient center includes medical teams from Mary Bridge Children’s Tacoma outpatient center, with a full array of medical services available.

The new pavilion is located near, but not connected to, the ark-shaped Mary Bridge Children’s therapy services building on the MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital campus.

“In addition to bringing new specialty clinics to Puyallup, the pavilion also provides increased space for the relocated clinics,” the system said in a news release.

“We’re excited to open this facility and believe it’ll help many patients and families receive comprehensive care much closer to home,” said Jeff Poltawsky, president and market leader of Mary Bridge Children’s, in a statement.

“By expanding our available services in Puyallup, families in East Pierce County and the surrounding area can now have a similar experience to that of our Tacoma outpatient center, where they have access to their child’s primary care team as well as many pediatric specialists and therapies,” he added.

MultiCare adult medical specialty clinics also are at the new site, including endocrinology, infectious disease, nephrology, pulmonology and rheumatology.

Separately, work continues on creating a new Tacoma’s Mary Bridge Children’s campus, after sharing space with MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital for more than 30 years.

The new campus will offer “a state-of-the-art pediatric campus including a new inpatient tower and new ambulatory building with urgent care and behavioral health services,” according to the health system.

The $415 million Tacoma campus project is set to open for patient care in early 2026, revised last year from an earlier 2024 opening date.
