Vietnam veteran, author to speak about female veterans during Wednesday event at Puyallup library
Author Donna Lowery, a retired U.S. Army sergeant major, host a presentation about her new book “Women Vietnam Veterans: Our Untold Stories” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 2) at the Puyallup Public Library, 324 S Meridian.
“Women Vietnam Veterans” chronicles the participation of American military women who were stationed in the Republic of Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Thanks to the service of these early military professionals, today’s military women are serving in fields never previously imagined.
Lowery served in the U.S. Army for 26 years and was one of the first group of women selected to service in Vietnam. She put together a 20-member book team to research and collect the personal stories for this inspired book project.
Copies of the book will be on hand for purchase and the author will be available to sign books following the program. This event is offered free to the public and no registration is required. For more information, visit the Puyallup Public Library website at puyalluplibrary.org or call the library at 253-841-5454.
