Hot cocoa, gifts, Santa. Puyallup’s lighted parade and holiday market are back
The holidays are finally approaching and those celebrating in Puyallup will have a chance to participate in two of the Puyallup Main Street Association’s signature events: the lighted Santa Parade and holiday market.
About 50 vendors will showcase their products in the Pioneer Park Pavilion from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Dec. 4. Some of the vendors are Dancing Bee Apiary & Bakery, Lumpia Love and Puget Sound Cider Company.
“They’ll all be selling products that someone can purchase as a Christmas gift,” PMSA Executive Director Kerry Yanasak said.
Attendees can also expect to find vendors selling coffee and hot chocolate, Yanasak said. A full list of vendors can be found on PMSA’s website.
In addition to the holiday market, the lighted Santa Parade will start at 5 p.m. It will run along South Meridian Avenue, from Main Street to Fourth Avenue Southwest. The parade is something like the lighted parade at Disneyland, Yanasak said.
“It’s a huge deal,” Yanasak said. “The community comes out like crazy.”
The parade was canceled last year due to COVID, Yanasak said.
This year’s parade will have music, costumes and will feature community groups such as local scout troops. And of course, Santa will be there. He’ll be riding a fire engine at the end of the parade.
“There’s a very strong rumor that it’s going to snow that day,” Yanasak said.
Both events are open to the public and there is no admission fee.
