Plan your route: A 5-day road closure in Puyallup might affect your commute

Puyallup drivers should plan to avoid the railroad crossing on North Meridian. It will be closed for construction from 5 p.m to 5 a.m. until Dec. 17.

Both lanes between the West Stewart Avenue and West Main portion of North Meridian will be closed. The BNSF Railway will repair sections of the rail crossing, according to the City of Puyallup’s Twitter page.

Detours have been placed for car and truck drivers. Those driving a car can expect detours on West Stewart Avenue and East Main Avenue. Truck drivers, on the other hand, can take the detour on River Road. The closure started Dec. 13. Construction work is expected to finish on Dec. 17 by 5 a.m.
