Puyallup drivers: Detours are in place downtown during construction

Puyallup drivers should plan to avoid a portion of Seventh Street Northwest and Third Avenue Northwest for the next couple of days. A portion of both roads will be closed while utilities are installed at the Puyallup Station, according to Sound Transit.

Third Avenue Northwest is closed Dec. 20-23 as well as Dec. 27-31 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Seventh Street Northwest is closed Dec. 20-23 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Detours will be in place.

“The work may create minimal noise impacts,” according to a construction alert from Sound Transit.

During the road closures, the east sidewalk on Seventh Street Northwest between West Stewart Avenue and Second Avenue Northwest will be closed. The west sidewalk will be open.

The north sidewalk on Third Avenue Northwest between Seventh Street Northwest and Sixth Street Northwest will be closed. The south sidewalk will be open.

Third Avenue Northwest between Fifth Street Northwest and Sixth Street Northwest has been closed permanently. Second Avenue Northwest between Fifth Street Northwest and Sixth Street Northwest is closed until April. Multiple sidewalks are closed until 2022.
