This local farmers’ market has over 125 vendors. Smoked meat, baked goods booths are new
The Puyallup Farmers’ Market is returning this April with a wide selection of new vendors that specialize in things such as smoked meat, quilts and baked goods.
The farmers’ market at Pioneer Park at 300 S. Meridian will run from April 16 to Oct. 8. The market will be every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Market director Jodi Stroh said she is expecting to have 125-150 vendors each Saturday.
During this year’s Meeker Days Festival June 17-19, the market will have extended hours on Friday and Saturday. Friday’s market will run from 12 to 6 p.m. and Saturday’s market will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Stroh said last year’s market was almost a “record-breaking year” from a sales standpoint. Stroh could not provide a dollar figure for how much vendors raised last year altogether.
Some of the new vendors this year include Stitchworx LLC, Dougies Smoked Meats and The Collection Bakery. The farmers that usually frequent the market to sell their produce, flowers and other farmed goods will also be there, among other vendors.
Stroh said visitors will get to see, hear, smell, taste and feel things entrepreneurs have produced.
“These folks are creating things with their hands and their hearts,” Stroh said.
