This Puyallup road will be closed for about a week due to ‘significant deterioration’

Puyallup commuters should plan to avoid Shaw Road starting Monday, Oct. 10.

Contractors will repair and restore a portion of the road between Manorwood Drive and 33rd Avenue SE. Lanes in both directions will be closed until Friday, Oct. 14.

Residents who live in the neighborhoods nearby will have access, but the area between 31st Avenue SE and 39th Avenue SE will be closed to traffic. Detour signs will be posted.

That portion of Shaw Road has experienced “significant deterioration,” according to the city’s website. Crews will perform a 3-inch grind and overlay of about 300 feet of roadway.
