Investigators reopen Foothills Trail following response by medics and Orting police
The Orting Police Department closed part of the Foothills Trail on Wednesday after 911 calls about an unconscious man near the trail.
Officers were dispatched to the vicinity of Meadow Lane Southeast and the Foothills Trail about 2:30 p.m.
Orting Valley Fire and Rescue medics and police officers found the man dead. He was in his mid 60s and lived in Graham.
The man died by suicide, according to a news release from the police department.
Officers closed the Foothills Trail from the skate park at 425 Washington Ave. SE to Meadow Lane Southeast. It was closed for about five hours and reopened about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, police chief Devon Gabreluk told The News Tribune.
