Emerald Ridge High graduate awarded annual scholarship

Jessica Brianne Pitts has been awarded the Monir Gharai Tabatabai Scholarship for the 2015-16 academic year. The daughter of Puyallup residents Rory and Kristy Pitts, Jessica graduated in June from Emerald Ridge High School, where she was a member of the school orchestra and participated in the drama department.

Pitts will be starting at Western Washington University as a freshman in the fall, with a major in English with a creative writing emphasis. She plans to be an author.

The Monir Gharai Tabatabai Scholarship is an annual scholarship for students who demonstrate financial need.
