Get a haircut, and soon a beer, at this barbershop opening in East Pierce County
There’s a new barbershop in Buckley, and it’s on Main Street.
Elite Barbershop at 740 Main St. opened its doors July 3. In addition to haircuts, the shop offers a shampoo and conditioner treatment that includes a pressure-point scalp massage and hot or cold towels.
A men’s haircut costs about $35. A beard trim starts at about $15. Boys 11 years old and under can get a $25 haircut.
Owner Brenda Long plans to get a liquor license soon, to offer beer to customers.
Long, 56, has lived in Buckley for about 24 years. Having a barbershop has always been her dream, she said.
“I have five boys. I’ve always been involved with boys’ hair,” Long said. “I’m a boy mom. I love the atmosphere.”
Long said the space for the barbershop used to house a security system business. It was also a doctor’s clinic at one point.
The barbershop is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The shop accepts walk-ins. Customers can also make an appointment at vagaro.com/elitebarbershopllc or by calling 253-523-7311.
