New wedding, event venue opens in East Pierce County with arched windows, red brick walls
There’s a new event space in Buckley where weddings, birthdays and meetings can take place.
Brix on Main at 700 Main St. is a 2,500-square-foot indoor venue. It has big arched windows and red brick walls. There are two private suites that can be used as hair and make-up stations or dressing rooms.
The venue also has a wet bar and prep kitchen. Tables, chairs and decor can be provided. The venue can accommodate up to 100 guests. Co-owner Courtney Lewis said people can host events such as grad parties, baby showers and reunions there.
Rates are determined based on the event. It would cost $200 per hour for 40 guests, and $300 per hour for 100 guests. Wedding receptions can range from $1,500 to $5,500.
“We believe that everybody should be able to celebrate absolutely everything in a classy and fun way that doesn’t stress them out,” co-owner Maggie Williams said.
Lewis and Williams, both 40, held a soft opening in late June. Both live in Bonney Lake. Williams said they saw the need for a venue like Brix on Main.
The location is what makes it unique, Lewis said. It’s in the heart of downtown, and there are a lot of free parking spaces around. There’s a cafe, bistro and multiple salons nearby. Three lodging options are also within walking distance.
“We are very passionate about events and bringing joy to people,” Lewis said.
The venue used to be a health clinic. Lewis and Williams said the only other downtown venue is Buckley Hall at 127 N. River Rd.
