Puyallup-area cannabis store burglarized after group crashes stolen car into the building

A group rammed a car into a Puyallup-area cannabis store and stole goods from it early Friday morning.

Officers arrived at LUCID minutes before 4 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4 and saw that a Kia Forte crashed into the building at 7924 River Rd. E., according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department’s blotter.

LUCID manager Jordan Wood said the vehicle looked dark blue. The sheriff’s department wrote in the blotter it was black, and that it is a stolen vehicle from Renton.

Officers didn’t find anyone inside.

Wood said no employees were in the building at the time.

A surveillance video showed the suspects rammed into the front entrance, stole “various merchandise,” and fled in a second vehicle, according to the blotter.

The second vehicle looked like an SUV in the surveillance video, Wood said.

The surveillance video showed more than five people involved in the burglary, Wood said. Ounce bags and joint jars were among the items stolen, totaling between $750 to $1,000.

Wood said they expect to finish fixing the front entrance by the end of the month.
