A car wash is being demolished in downtown Puyallup. Here’s what will replace it

If you drive around Puyallup, you may notice something brewing next to the Chevron at 1502 S. Meridian.

The property next to the gas station used to be a car wash. Come September, it’s where a new Canopy West Truck Accessories shop will open. The shop will move from 606 N. Meridian. Owner Mandy Klar said she doesn’t know what will replace the North Meridian location. They rented that space. They purchased the South Meridian location.

Canopy West offers canopies and other truck accessories, such as mud flaps. Klar said they also plan to offer overlanding equipment (for off-road expeditions) at the South Meridian location, which is something new.

The cost of their services varies. Klar said it can range from the low hundreds to $5,000.

Canopy West also operates in Auburn and Everett, and they have locations in Canada. The business has been around since 1983.

The car wash at the South Meridian location is being demolished to make space for the new shop. Klar said she didn’t know how long the car wash had been there.
