These new Pierce County child care centers will have 180 spots. Here’s what to expect
A child care provider is bringing new day cares to two East Pierce County cities starting this year.
The Learning Experience will open locations at 527 Meridian Ave. E. in Edgewood and at 22028 Meridian E. in Graham.
The Edgewood location is expected to open sometime between April and June, according to a news release from The Learning Experience. The Graham location is expected to open sometime between January and March 2025.
Each child care center will be 10,000 square feet and will have a 5,000-square-foot playground. About 30 staff members will work with up to 180 children at each center, according to the news release.
The child care centers will serve children between the ages of 6 weeks old and 6 years old, according to the news release. Programs that will be offered include day care, enrichment programs and early childhood education. Classes will be separated by age.
The child care centers will have security cameras and rounded corners in hallways and classrooms, according to The Learning Experience’s website.
When asked how much guardians should expect to pay for child care services, chief brand officer Brad Wahl wrote in an email: “We are in line with other national brands, and the new centers will be in line with others in the area.”
The Edgewood and Graham locations will operate Monday through Friday. Wahl said they anticipate operating hours to be from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The franchise is based in Florida. It has over 370 child care centers, including one in Maple Valley and another in Mill Creek.
Correction: This article has been updated to correct the number of child care centers that are part of the franchise. The Learning Experience has 370 child care facilities.
