Millennials: Matchbox Twenty is coming to Puyallup. Here’s when tickets go on sale

Matchbox Twenty is coming to the Washington State Fair.

They’ll play the grandstands at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13, according to a press release the fair sent Monday morning.

“Matchbox Twenty have quietly woven their songs into the very fabric of American popular culture,” the release said. “No matter where you are, it’s impossible not to hum along (or even sing aloud) to generational anthems like ‘3AM,’ ‘Push,’ ‘Unwell,’ ‘Bent,’ ‘If You’re Gone,’ or ‘She’s So Mean.’”

General tickets are $85-$105. They go on sale 10 a.m. Friday. Those who sign up for the fair’s e-club can access pre-sale tickets 10 a.m. March 13.

“Earning hits in each of the last three decades, they’ve gone from perennially dominating radio airwaves and ruling MTV to piling up streams in the billions, speaking to the enduring appeal of their music,” the release said. “As such, they’ve sold more than 40 million records worldwide, dominated charts, garnered multiple GRAMMY® Award nominations and played to millions of fans in arenas, amphitheaters and stadiums across continents.”

The show is part of the band’s North American Slow Dream Tour.

“Where the Light Goes” is the band’s first album in 11 years.

“Rob Thomas, Brian Yale, Paul Doucette, and Kyle Cook — simply did what they do best and wrote another batch of real, relevant, and relatable songs,” the release said.

Concert tickets include admission to the fair.
