What’s that new giant building drivers can see from River Road? Here’s what we know

If you drive along River Road East, you may notice construction happening across the river at Frank Albert Road East and North Levee Road East.

The Puyallup Tribe of Indians is building a 140,000-square-foot manufacturing center at 3205 Frank Albert Road E. in Fife.

The building’s exterior is expected to be finished by June, the tribe posted on social media March 8.

The manufacturing center should be “up and running” by early 2025, according to the social media post.

Items such as circuit boards, digital screen prints, generator parts, defense products and renewable batteries will be manufactured at the building, according to a recent article in Puyallup Tribal News, the tribe’s newspaper.

The manufacturing center will provide tribal members with as many as 200 jobs, according to the article.

Sierra Construction Company, Inc. is spearheading the construction.
