This Pierce County hospital has one of the busiest ERs in the U.S. Meet its new president
Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup has one of the busiest emergency rooms in the country per capita — and it now has a new leader.
According to a news release from MultiCare Monday, the new president will be Dawn Anuszkiewicz. Anuszkiewicz is replacing Jim Beatty over a year after he left in January 2024.
MultiCare spokesperson Scott Thompson said Good Samaritan saw 169,896 hospital visits in 2024. Thompson shared a Becker’s Hospital Review article with The News Tribune that listed Good Samaritan as the fourth-busiest emergency department per capita in the U.S.
“I realize that Good Samaritan Hospital has a long history of providing for the medical needs of residents of Puyallup and East Pierce County,” Anuszkiewicz said in the release. “I’m looking forward to partnering with our staff and physicians to build upon our legacy of service and enhance our clinical programs to meet the growing health care needs of our community.”
Before taking this position, Anuszkiewicz was the president of Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette, Colorado. Anuszkiewicz has also served in administrative roles at Reading Hospital in West Reading, Pennsylvania; Ochsner Baptist in New Orleans; and St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She has a Master of Health Services Administration degree from George Washington University.
