A new McDonald’s is coming soon to Puyallup.

Eric Johnson, spokesperson for the City of Puyallup, told The News Tribune on Thursday that the McDonald’s will be at the same site as East Town Crossing — a mixed-use apartment development under construction at 2902 E. Pioneer.

Johnson said the site at Shaw Road East and Pioneer Way East will also have a yoga studio and a third commercial business that he didn’t have details on.

According to city permits, the 3,854-square foot restaurant will have “a double drive-thru.”

This will be the fourth McDonald’s within city limits.

When The News Tribune asked Johnson when the McDonald’s is expected to open, he said to ask Greg Helle, the developer on the project. The News Tribune did not receive a response from Helle by deadline.

Helle told The News Tribune in March 2024 that East Town Crossing is going to be three stories, with 24 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. He also said there will be a pool and clubhouse.

The project’s website says the apartments are expected to open this summer.
