Puyallup’s Holiday Magic returns with Grinch night and free rides with admission

Puyallup’s holiday celebration at the fairgrounds has begun.

Holiday Magic is happening at the Washington State Fair Event Center from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday between Dec. 5 and Dec. 21. Guests can also visit Holiday Magic during those hours on Monday, Dec. 22 and Tuesday, Dec. 23.

There are multiple attractions at Holiday Magic, including:

  • Holiday light displays
  • A Snowflake Stage with live shows
  • Photos with Santa
  • A gnome scavenger hunt, with prizes for guests who find all 10 gnomes
  • Landmarks such as Gingerbread Lane, Fireside Plaza, Santa’s Clubhouse and Santa’s Village
  • Holiday rides, which are free with admission.

Guests can also experience three special nights: Dec. 7 is Ugly Sweater Night, Dec. 12 is Grinch Night and Dec. 19 is Country Night.

According to the fair’s website, these are the ticket prices:

  • Adults 13 years old or older: $22.50 if purchased online, $25 if purchased at the gate.
  • Children 3 to 12 years old: $17.50 if purchased online, $18 if purchased at the gate.

Children 2 years old or younger get in for free. Holiday Magic also has Military Fridays, where “all active, reserve and retired military and National Guard, plus disabled veterans” get a discounted price of $18 – both online and at the gate.

Guests can only buy tickets at the gate until 8:30 p.m., and no new guests will be allowed to enter after 9 p.m.

Parking for Holiday Magic is free, according to the fair’s website.

“The main parking and entry for Holiday Magic is in the Green Lot and Green Gate on the west side of the grounds (same side as the Classic Coaster/Giant Slide),” the website says. “Additional parking and entry will be available all operating hours of the event, in the Blue Lot and at the Blue Gate.”
