Puyallup: News

Major Pierce County commuter bridge closed until further notice for inspection

The George Milroy Bridge has been closed until further notice.

According to a Facebook post about 9:20 a.m. Tuesday from the Fife Police Department, the bridge has been closed while crews inspect the bridge for weather-related damages. The bridge crosses the Puyallup River on 66th Avenue East and connects areas near state Route 167 to North Levee Road East.

“Please add extra time to your commute if you need to go through the area,” the post said. “While the bridge is closed, drivers can cross the river at Meridian.”
