Puyallup: News

Puyallup area is getting 1,000 new homes in this master-planned community

Hundreds of new homes are coming to South Hill.

The Club at Uplands is a new master-planned community with 1,000 homes planned on 320 acres, according to a news release from Tarragon, the developer behind the new development. The development is located at 17879 Uplands Blvd. E.

Katelin Sides, spokesperson for Tarragon, told The News Tribune there are currently 155 homes built, and a second phase will bring 137 more homes this spring – bringing the total to 292 of the 1,000 total homes planned.

When The News Tribune asked Sides how many phases there will be, she said she couldn’t give an exact number but that “over 800 homes are planned for the next few years.”

“[It’s] a big mix of homes – we have four different builders, so ranging from three- to five-bedrooms, basically, a variety of homes to fit just the different family formations and lifestyles,” Sides said.

The news release says home prices range from $600,000 to $900,000 and there are about 40 homes currently on the market.

The development features a clubhouse, which opened on Jan. 5.

According to the news release, there are two buildings connected with a covered walkway. One of the buildings has a fitness center, while the other has a media room, coffee bar and gathering spaces.

Outdoor amenities include a pool, a hot tub, barbecues, a reflection pond, a bocce ball court and firepits.

“The thing that’s been really neat for me to see is how many people are moving to have that sense of community and get to know their neighbor, which is really rare, I feel like, right now,” Sides said.
