Puyallup credit union robber is at large, police say. Public asked to avoid area

Police are investigating a robbery at a Puyallup credit union.

In a news release sent out at 4:17 p.m., the Puyallup Police Department said the robbery happened at about 2:14 p.m.

“Officers arrived and confirmed via bank employees that an individual had robbed the bank. It was reported that the individual had displayed a firearm and demanded money from the teller,” the release said. “After receiving money, the individual fled the location on foot.”

Kevin Gill, spokesperson for the Puyallup Police Department, said the suspect is still at large.

On Thursday morning, PPD described the suspect as “an unknown race male with a light brown complexion, approximately 40 years old.”

They said he is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 230 pounds.

“At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a tan hat, dark-colored wig, safety glasses, a face mask, blue flannel shirt with a neon yellow undershirt, brown pants, and grey shoes with white soles,” the post said.
