Detectives have identified a woman who was found dead in Lake Tapps almost seven years ago — and they believe someone killed her.
According to a Wednesday afternoon Facebook post from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, police found human remains in a sealed yard debris container on Ninth Street East near Lake Tapps on Aug. 28, 2019.
“The remains were previously listed as Jane Doe until recently, through forensic genetic genealogy, she has been identified as Linda Lee Schock,” the post said. “... Linda’s death is classified as a homicide, and we are seeking any information about her or her death.”
Schock was 53 years old at the time of her death, the post said.
According to the post, “an excavator operator working in the area” found the container and called 911 when they learned it had remains inside. Shock’s body was found wrapped in a blanket inside the container.
