Puyallup butcher shop recalls over 100 pounds of ground beef products

Blue Max Meats in Puyallup is recalling about 102 pounds of their ground beef products that were produced on July 6.

The butcher shop posted on Facebook Tuesday that the reason for the recall is that metal shavings and flakes may have contaminated the products.

Some beefs products included in the recall are:

  • Counter 93/7% Ground Chuck 33.51 pounds
  • Counter 80/20% Ground Beef 47.86 pounds
  • Tray pack 80/20% Burger Patties 7.91 pounds
  • Tray pack 80/20% Bacon Cheddar Patties 12.80 pounds

The post said the items were packed on July 6 with a July 11 sell-by date.

Anyone who has purchased these items from the butcher shop recently with the July 6 production date are asked to discard or return the items to the store at 9502 Canyon Road East.

Blue Max Meats also has a location in Buckley. The store replied to a comment on the Facebook post that only the Puyallup shop was affected.
