Unclaimed, sick dogs keep showing up in Puyallup. Animal control asks for help

Metro Animal Services has seen a significant uptick in unclaimed dogs in Puyallup parks over the past three weeks, the department announced in a Facebook post Saturday.

Many of the dogs are suffering from medical issues including malnutrition, skin conditions and ear conditions, the post said.

While some of the dogs may be lost, animal control officials believe many were abandoned and are asking for the public’s help identifying the animals and their owners.

The parks where dogs were found include Wildwood Park, Clark’s Creek Park and Bradley Lake Park.

Animal control officers would like the public to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity in public parks. Concerns can be reported to animal control by emailing animalcontrol@sumnerwa.gov.

Residents can also help these dogs by donating Costco Kirkland brand dry puppy food and Purina One wet puppy food to the Metro Animal Services shelter at 1200 39th Avenue Southeast in Puyallup.

Donations are accepted before 4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
