Sumner School District middle, high school students will have special start times on first day of school

There will be special start times on the first day of school, Sept. 9, for middle and high school students in the Sumner School District.

Sixth- and ninth-graders will be picked up according to their regular weekly bus schedule, not on the Wednesday late start schedule. They will have a full school day schedule. School start time on Sept. 9 for students in grades six and nine is 7:25 a.m.

Seventh- and eighth-graders will begin school at 12:25 p.m. Sept. 9. They will not follow the Wednesday late start schedule. Bus transportation will be five hours later than the regular bus schedule. School lunch will not be served to students in grades seven and eight.

Students in grades one through five will begin school Sept. 9 following the Wednesday late start schedule. The buses will operate on the Wednesday late start schedule and breakfast and lunch will be served to all grades.

There will not be any kindergarten classes held Sept. 9. The first day of kindergarten is Sept. 14.
