Puyallup YMCA hosts 2nd annual environmental kids program
The Go Green Games, a program that teaches kids how to care for their environment, is throwing its second annual event from noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Mel Korum YMCA in Puyallup.
The free event is sponsored in part by local organizations, including WayOut Kids, Waste Connections and the Puyallup Watershed Initiative, to expand environmental awareness in youth.
The program will host games and activities such as the Salmon Olympics and a Kids SuperSlide Bouncy. Kids can also examine real aquatic life from a marsh.
This year, a garbage truck and fire truck will be on display, and food will be provided.
Rodney Raccoon, Harry Husky and McGruff the Crime Dog are some of the mascots who will be present at the event’s Mascot Mania.
