Man in ‘farmers type’ hat, sunglasses robs Puyallup bank
A man wearing what law enforcement described as a “farmers type” hat and large sunglasses robbed a Columbia Bank in Puyallup on Wednesday evening, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said.
The man entered the bank at 10321 Canyon Rd E. and handed the teller a note implying he had a gun at 5 p.m., the sheriff’s department said. He then fled westbound on 104th Street East, and authorities said he most likely got into a waiting getaway vehicle.
The sheriff’s department described the suspect as a white male, about 40 years old and 5-feet, 6-inches tall. In addition to the dark-colored, wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses, he was also wearing blue jeans and a dark jacket, law enforcement said.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Tacoma-Pierce County at 1-800-222-TIPS. Those with information could receive a $1,000 reward.
