2 arraigned in fatal I-5 wreck in Tacoma
Two men charged in connection with a fatal five-vehicle wreck on Intestate 5 in Tacoma were arraigned Thursday.
Julio Gonzalez-Herrera, 23, and Spencer Marr, 24, pleaded not guilty to vehicular homicide. Pierce County Court Commissioner Meagan Foley ordered them released on their own recognizance.
They’re accused of driving under the influence of alcohol and marijuana, and causing the April 9 wreck that killed 25-year-old Dominic Bryant.
Deputy prosecutor Tim Jones wrote in charging papers that Bryant was a passenger in Marr’s car, which crashed into an abandoned vehicle on the side of the freeway.
Marr’s car then spun across the freeway’s lanes, and the vehicle Gonzalez-Herrera was driving hit it. Other vehicles also crashed as a result.
Bryant died from his injuries at Madigan Army Medical Center.
