Codefendants sentenced for string of East Pierce County thefts

The last of those arrested in connection with a string of East Pierce County thefts early this year have been sentenced.

Dayin Rex Henry, 34, received a six-month sentence last week for his role in stealing trailers and vehicles, more than 12 of which investigators found in January at the Graham property where he was living.

He pleaded guilty Nov. 28 to various charges related to those thefts.

Also living at the property was 34-year-old Shane Sweetman, who pleaded guilty Nov. 23 and was sentenced to nine years, two months in prison.

That sentence also covered the burglary of Puyallup storage units in April, for which Sweetman and two others were arrested.

Co-defendants in that case, 28-year-old Chad Winder, and 31-year-old Christina Wood, pleaded guilty earlier this year to charges including theft and criminal trespass.

They got suspended sentences, which means they won’t serve further time behind bars if they avoid future trouble with the law.
