Oscar Blackwater was found beaten to death Monday in Tacoma.
On Friday, Tacoma police reached out to the public again for information about the killing.
Blackwater, 74, was last seen Aug. 16 near South 38th Street and Pacific Avenue, according to a news release from Tacoma-Pierce County Crimestoppers.
He was homeless and often seen near Pacific and Portland avenues, the release said.
His body was found Monday, Aug. 21, about 12:30 p.m. in the woods near the 3500 block of Pacific Avenue, police said.
An autopsy Tuesday showed that he died of blunt-force injury to the head and chest, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.
No one has been arrested.
