Pedestrian critically injured after being hit by vehicle, police say
A woman was critically injured when she was struck by a vehicle Friday night in Tacoma and the driver was arrested after the wreck, according to police.
The incident happened about 6:30 p.m. Friday in the 1900 block of South Union Street, police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said Saturday.
The 62-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and was transported to Tacoma General Hospital.
The 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of vehicular assault and underwent a blood draw for testing, Cool said.
