He hid under ex’s porch, then broke into her house to rape her, deputies say
Pierce County sheriff’s deputies are seeking a man they say waited under his ex-girlfriend’s porch, broke into her home, tied her to a chair and raped her earlier this month.
David Love, 53, was charged in absentia Monday in Pierce County Superior Court with first-degree rape, second-degree burglary, unlawful imprisonment and violation of a domestic violence court order. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
Love is 5-foot-9 and 235 pounds, and he has gray hair, hazel eyes and a large scar across his left cheek. He’s known to frequent the east side of Tacoma and Spanaway.
According to court documents:
Love’s ex-girlfriend was in her home, talking on the phone when Love appeared in her bedroom with a knife. He held the blade to her throat and demanded she undress.
He told her he’d hidden under her front porch until her roommate left, then broke into the home. He then tied her to a stool and raped her at knifepoint.
The two had dated for 17 years before breaking up after a domestic violence incident last year.
Anyone with information about Love’s whereabouts should contact Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
