Woman hospitalized after suspected DUI wreck on SR 410
Troopers suspect drugs or alcohol played a role in a wreck Saturday night that left a 54-year-old Auburn woman hospitalized, according to a Washington State Patrol statement.
The wreck on state Route 410 at the intersection of 254th Avenue E. between Bonney Lake and Buckley was caused by an unsafe turn, according to the statement. A 33-year-old man from Roy was turning left from the eastbound lanes of the highway onto 254th. A westbound car driven by an Auburn man and carrying the woman and a 16-year-old girl hit the turning vehicle. Both vehicles came to a stop off the road.
Both cars involved were Chevrolet Silverado pickups. All involved were wearing seat belts.
The driver was charged with vehicular assault, according to the WSP statement.
