He put cameras in bathrooms of a Sumner coffee business. Now he’s been sentenced.
A man who set up cameras inside bathrooms at the Sumner coffee business where he worked has pleaded guilty to voyeurism.
Superior Court Judge Frank Cuthbertson gave Scott Kegley a high-end sentence of 90 days in jail Friday.
Kegley, 39, put cellphones in paper towel dispensers to record inside the restrooms, according to charging papers.
A co-worker found one phone when she heard it vibrate. She then searched a second restroom, where she found another one.
Both phones were recording.
Kegley’s friends and family wrote the court ahead of sentencing to say that he is a loving father and husband who understands what he did was wrong. He’s been focusing on his faith, they said, and has a strong support system.
One of the victims also wrote the court to say that Kegley might be a devoted father but that he was also a devoted voyeur.
“Unfortunately, nice, giving, loving people have the capability to do extremely wrong things and with that comes consequences,” the victim wrote.
Court records show Kegley previously was convicted of criminal trespass in 2010 after he was accused of taking up-skirt photos of a woman at a South Hill department store.
